Raymond “Boz” Bossert is the District General Manager. He comes from a Village Manager position in central Wisconsin after serving over 35 years in the US Army Corps of Engineers, retiring as a Colonel in 2019. In his service to our country, Boz deployed in over 14 combat deployments and he received numerous awards and medals for his service, including several medals for valor in combat. He served as a Private up through Colonel and was the commander for over 10,000 troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Boz speaks Arabic and is an expert in the Middle East and training foreign armies. He also taught at the U.S. Army War college, disaster management, and served in the Pentagon working with the U.S. Executive office and Congress on numerous civil military issues. He comes from a military family - there has been a Bossert serving this country in every conflict since the Revolutionary War. His last assignment was working on the southwest border wall where he was integral in coordinating the efforts of all 54 states and territories to build and man over 1,500 miles of border wall, reporting directly to the President of the United States.
He has a Master's degree in Strategic Studies, and received a 2nd Master’s in Public Administration, which inspired him to continue serving citizens in another capacity as a city manager. He has expertise in strategic planning, interagency cooperation, and team building. Boz has the full support of his wife of over 17 years Kristi, and his children Gavin Grant, age 11, and Ava Elaine, age 8. They enjoy traveling and experiencing outdoor activities.
In his role as District General Manager for Sun 'N Lake, Boz is responsible for all District operations. General Administration, Roads and Drainage, Building Maintenance, Utilities, Golf and Restaurant Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Community Services and interagency coordination all fall under the General Manager. The General Manager and our staff serve the residents of the District and report to the Board of Supervisors through the General Manager. The watchwords of the District staff are to be Professional, Ready and Relevant in all actions. The staff provides exceptional services and are fully transparent in our actions. We are stewards of the assessment fees that each resident pays and ensure that they receive a benefit and value for those fees.
While your elected officials represent you and you are always welcome to correspond with them on any issue, the General Manager asks that you always give us a chance to address, and hopefully fix, your issues first. Boz is happy to be your General Manager and serve the citizens of Sun 'N Lake.
