Sun ’n Lake Improvement District Announces Exciting Partnership with Ridge Area ARC for On-the-Job Training:

Sebring, Florida — The Sun ‘n Lake Improvement District is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Ridge Area ARC, an esteemed, non-profit organization that serves and advocates for individuals with developmental and other disabilities, to participate in an On-the-Job Training (OJT) program.

This collaboration represents a significant step towards enriching an inclusive workforce and the professional development landscape in our community. By joining forces with ARC, we aim to empower aspiring professionals with hands-on experience and invaluable skills tailored to their industry of interest. Through this partnership, we are committed to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of growth and excellence.

The OJT program will provide participants with immersive learning experiences under the mentorship of seasoned professionals within our organization and supervision of the Ridge Area ARC’s Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Counselor. Participants will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, gaining practical insights and enhancing interpersonal skills Moreover, they will benefit from personalized guidance and support to navigate their career paths successfully.

The OJT program will kick off on March 1, 2024, with Jonathan Tyson selected through the Ridge Area ARC’s placement screening process. Throughout the OJT program duration, Jonathan will assist with hands-on responsibilities - throughout multiple District departments - designed to enhance his capabilities and readiness for the workforce.
